Crawshaw Academy 36 Brigshaw High 28

South Leeds Stadium, the site of Albert Goldthorpe's Blue Plaque, was the venue for the final which took place on November 30th. Crawshaw dominated from the start building up a 20 - 0 lead by half time. The one way traffic continued in the second half with a further 10 points being added without reply. Then a remarkable transformation took place. Brigshaw showing tremendous character and determination came back with 24 unanswered points. Crawshaw silenced the talk amongst spectators about the possibility of extra time when they went over again and converted but Brigshaw were still not finished scoring the games final try.

So Crawshaw lifted the trophy for the first time since 1995. Leeds Rhinos player Anthony Mullally was on hand to present the medals and Stephen McGrail, Albert Goldthorpe's great grandson, was honoured to make the presentation of this historic trophy.

This was a superb game played in good spirit with credit being due to both sides.
